In my line of work (cancer drug advertising; I know - ironic, right?!), I am often charged with the task of taking complex scientific medical information and boiling it down to its essence of differences and benefits.  That’s why I loves me a good analogy - to help quickly and succinctly convey a point.  Many aspects of my cancer journey so far (and to come) are analogous to the incredibly collaborative effort required to produce an Academy Award winning film.

   -   Director: To Dr. S and Dr. S, who have both been at the helm - charting the course of my chemo and maintenance regimen.

   -   Screenplay: To life, for coming up with a storyline that is stranger than truth and packed with the kind of stuff that you just can't make up.

   -   Cinematography: To all of my loving family photogs who have been documenting my journey with silly and strengthening images and videos.

   -   Editing: To the clinic pharmacist who is always adjusting and tweaking my various magic potions and elixirs.

   -   Costume Design: From hospital gowns to Tuxedos to a variety of masks, and all couture in between, that have kept me safe and stylish.

   -   Makeup & Hair: To my stylist Cindy who gave me a buzz cut before my hair fell out from my last chemo session - pre-Stem Cell Transplant.

   -   Actor: To me, for being up on those rare days when I feel down; and being down for doing this on those days when I'm just done.

   -   Picture: To the best "picture of health" that my team has helped me attain and maintain throughout these first five years.

It takes so many folks to keep my Cancer train on track and running; I'm surrounded by an "award winning" support team.  In the words of Jamie Lee Curtis: "We just conquered cancer.  We just conquered cancer!"  Thank you.
